1. The Organiser

The organiser is: PAAW House Limited of 130 Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1D 5EU (“PAAW House”).

 

2. The Competition

2.1 The title of the competition is PAAWSTIVAL AWARDS 2023.

​

2.2 PAAWstival 2023 is a London based event celebrating all things dog, hosting a dog show with a difference culminating in the live final of the PAAWstival Charity Dog Awards from which profits are paid to our nominated charities.  Full details of the PAAWstival will be posted on the website at www.paawstival.co.uk  (‘Competition Website’).  Entries are submitted online through the Competition Website in up to six (6) different categories.  There will be three rounds of the competition:

​

· Round 1 : this round will close Spring 2023 (the "Closing Date") and will be judged by a PAAW House judging team who will select 20 entrants in each category to go through into Round 2;

​

· Round 2 : will be judged by a team of celebrity guest judges and one member of PAAW House judging team (at least two (2) judges judging each category) who will select ten (5) finalists in each category to go through into Round 3;

​

· Round 3 : will be a live event held in September 2023 at a venue to be announced. A selection of four (4) judges will judge each category. The five finalists in each category will compete for the opportunity to win their category. There will be a cash prize for the winner and runners up of each category.

The dates for each round and the live final will be posted on the Competition Website and any updates or changes will be notified to all entrants as well as posted on the Competition Website.

3. How To Enter

​

3.1 The competition will run from September 2022 (the "Opening Date") to Spring 2023 (the "Closing Date") inclusive or until the category is full, whichever comes first.

​

3.2 To enter your dog into the PAAWstival Awards, you need to fill out the entry form on the Competition Website (“Entry”) and submit a photograph (in a virus-free jpeg following the instructions on the Competition Website).   All Entries must be received by PAAW House through their Competition Website by no later than [23.59] on the Closing Date.  

 

3.3 There is a £3 early bird charge to register a dog for each category of the competition (“Entry Fee”).  You may enter your dog multiple time in one or all category with different photos.  There will be a maximum of 3000 Entries per category in the competition.

 

3.4 Once your Entry and Entry Fee are received, PAAW House will send you an email confirming your Entry, subject to clause 4 below.

 

3.5 By submitting an Entry, you are agreeing that you have read and will be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.7 The Entries will be judged by a panel of judges. The judges will be selected by PAAW House in their discretion and announced prior to the live final.

 

3.8 If you cannot attend the live final, then your Entry will not be eligible to receive a prize, so please check the dates of the live final on the Competition Website to confirm that you can attend before submitting an Entry. A valid Entry, once accepted, cannot be cancelled by you for any reason and the Entry Fee will not be refunded unless for one of the reasons set out in clause 5.3.

4. Eligibility, Disqualification And Entry Weighting

​

4.1 The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over and their dogs, except:

(a) employees of PAAW House or its holding or subsidiary companies.

(b) employees of agents or suppliers of PAAW House or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or

(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

4.2 By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win.  PAAW House may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.

​

4.3 Disqualification: PAAW House will not accept Entries which:

(a) contain any content that gives PAAW House or the judges suspicion that you have cheated, are using deception or fraudulent or unsportsmanlike behaviour of any kind;

(b) are automatically generated by computer, incomplete or completed in bulk;

(c) contain any photographs which fall within one of the following categories:

(i) a photograph which could be interpreted as cruel, harmful or non-respectful of the dog’s wellbeing;

(ii) a photograph which contains watermarks including your name, initials, logo, date from the camera settings or other words or symbols, or any 3rd party branding which is embossed or imprinted anywhere on your Entry;

(iii) a photograph which includes any dog breeds banned in Great Britain (this includes any ‘type’ defined in the Dangerous Dogs Act 1992, considered to match the description of a prohibited ‘type’); any breed crossed with these dogs; and any other breed or type added at a later date;

(iv) a photograph which is defamatory, indecent or violates any third party’s rights, offensive, unlawful, obscene, threatening, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, promotes political positions or actions, encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, gives rise to civil liability, violates any law or is otherwise inappropriate, or contains advertisements or solicitations of business; or

(v) a photograph which does not belong to the entrant;

(d) Entries received after the Closing Date – it will not be the PAAW House’s responsibility if an Entry is not received before the Closing Date regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.

4.4 Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.

​

4.5 PAAW House reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

​

4.6 Entries into each category of the competition shall carry equal weighting and each will be judged on their merits.

 

5. Payment Of The Entry Fee

​

5.1 All payments of the Entry Fees can be made on our Competition Website using a UK credit/debit card and will be processed by one of our secure payment processing providers, currently Stripe or PayPal.  The payment process will be conducted entirely by the payment provider and at no stage will PAAW House see or retain your payment details.

​

5.2 You agree that you are responsible for any and all tax liabilities arising from claiming a Prize. PAAW House shall have no liability for any tax consequences arising from your paying an Entry Fee and/or claiming a Prize.

​

5.3 Except as set out in this paragraph 5.3, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, PAAW House will not offer refunds for Entry Fees.  PAAW House will offer refunds in the event that:

​

(a) you believe that you have paid an Entry Fee in error, in which case please let us know as soon as possible (and in any event by no later than ten (10) days after the Closing Date) and provide the reasons why the Entry Fee has been made in error.  PAAW House reserves the right to process refunds for Entry Fee made in error in its sole discretion;

(b) the Prize Draw is cancelled or held void under condition 12.2.

6. The Prizes

​

6.1 Details of all the prizes offered will be stated on the Competition Website. 

​

6.2 The prizes are not negotiable.

​

7. Winners

​

7.1 The decision of the judges nominated by PAAW House is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into concerning the prize winners. 

​

7.2 PAAW House will announce the finalists in each via email and on the Competition Website. 

​

7.3 PAAW House will make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation PAAW House will publish the surname and county of major prize winners and, if applicable, their winning entries on the Competition Website after the event.

​

7.4 If you win a prize, it will be assumed that, having consented to these terms, you consent to PAAW House publishing your name, dog’s name, social media handle and/or profile picture and referring to your win on the Competition Website or in any and all media in perpetuity for publicity and PR purposes.

​

7.5 If you object to any or all of your surname, dog’s name, county and winning Entry being published or made available, please contact PAAW House by email at: info@paaw.house. In such circumstances, PAAW House must still provide the information and winning Entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

​

8. Claiming The Prize

​

8.1 If your Entry wins a prize, you will be briefed in person at the live final which will be by bank transfer no later than 14 days after the event.

​

8.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

​

8.3 PAAW House will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners in each category. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize after the Announcement Date, PAAW House reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct Entries that were received before the Closing Date.

​

8.4 PAAW House does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

​

9. Limitation Of Liability

​

Insofar as is permitted by law, PAAW House will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of attending the live final or taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of PAAW House, its agents or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

10. Ownership of competition Entries and intellectual property rights

​

10.1 All competition Entries and any accompanying material submitted to the PAAW House will become the property of PAAW House on receipt and will not be returned.

​

10.2 By submitting your competition Entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:

(a) assign to PAAW House all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and

(b) waive all moral rights, in and to your competition Entry and otherwise arising in connection with your Entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

10.3 You agree that PAAW House may, but is not required to, make the fact of your Entry available on its Competition Website and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant PAAW House a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition Entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, copy, edit, store and re-format the competition Entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.

11. Data Protection and Publicity

​

11.1 You recognise that PAAW House may use your contact details and other data including personal data as defined in the Data Protection Act 2018 supplied by you to us in your Entry to the competition, to both administer the competition and publicise if you are a winner.  PAAW House will only process your personal information as set out in the [Privacy Policy]. See also condition 7.3 and condition 7.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.

12. General

​

12.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, PAAW House may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

​

12.2 PAAW House reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.  If the competition is suspended or cancelled, you will be notified and your Entry Fee will be refunded.  If the live final of the competition cannot be hosted by PAAW House owing to the coronavirus epidemic or another similar national lockdown, PAAW House will endeavour to host a live virtual digital final.  Any such updates to the competition will be announced on the Competition Website.

12.3 In addition to these Entry terms and conditions, your usage of the Competition Website will be subject to its terms of use [T&C's].

12.4 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
